Fair Watch 2008
This year we visited the UK's Swinderby Antique Fair organised by Aurther Swallow which has been running sucessfully for some years. The Swinderby Fair has always been on the days before the Newark International Fair. The weather is a major factor with this fair as there is so much outside. The week was good except for Tuesday which was the wettest I can remember at this location, although others said they could remember worse. The Swinderby Fairs have had a large number of stall holders attending and the Fair is almost too large to walk round in a day. The runways get longer as the day progresses and bargains are hard to find, but it is seldom that you will come away with nothing and you may find something really good with perseverance although I struggled on this
ocassion The atmosphere
among the traders and public
is good and all in all it can be
a great dayout weather and wind
permitting.
Security Watch
Despite all the warnings Collectors and Dealers fail to keep photographic records of their purchases. I recently spoke to a dealer who reguraly gave this advice but failed to carry it out himself and was broken into and robbed!!!!

2. Auction items are sold as seen.
3. Check your guarantee.
4. Check sellers feedback for honesty.
5. Check the returns policy of the seller.
6. Check your shipping options and consider full insurance.

Directing Traffic To The Antiques Trade
Welcome to Antique SpotLight a Directory of antiques and collectibles for Antique Sellers and Buyers. This directory is designed to make it easier to view as many sites as possible that are associated with your particular collecting area. The Antique Trader of today is far more sophisticated than in the past and may sell from his shop address and also from a web based shop together with auctions at auction houses and online auctions. The big online auctions are a useful area for the Collector to look at but many of the best antiques are still sold through professional traders whose specialist knowledge has made them sucessful. We hope to promote the Antique Trade effectively and give the small sites good visability on the internet.
